Veer Dates Pushed Back?
Just got an e-mail from someone who has had their Veer date pushed back from December 4th to January 13th. I have not yet had my date pushed back. If this is the case, this SUCKS. I just sold a large amount of stock and moved it out of my brokerage account in anticipation of writing a $xx,000 cheque on Monday.
Update: I was also forwarded the contents of a mail sent by the SLU folks to someone who had been pushed back.
- The construction start date was delayed due to an appeal of the ‘Master Use Permit’. In general terms, the Master Use Permit allows us to build Veer. The development team has worked with the neighbor who filed an appeal and they have resolved the issue. The Master Use Permit has been granted and construction is slated to begin in December, but not until after your previously scheduled home selection appointment. The Master Use Permit appeal delay comes on top of the earlier delay from the recent concrete strike.
- We are unable to commit to a purchase and sales agreement until construction has commenced. With the holidays quickly approaching, we felt it was wise to wait for January to start the process of Home Selection Days as many buyers have travel and family plans in later December.
- This delay does not change the order in which the lottery cards were drawn. This only changes the day in which you would come into the Discovery Center to choose your new home! The order of selection remains the same.
- The delay in starting construction also results in a delay in the completion of the project. Veer Lofts is now anticipated to be complete in Spring 2008.
Update 2: I got a voice mail from Jon at SLU and my date has been pushed back to January 17th, 9:45am.
