Urban Living Meetup #5 Re-cap

Wow, busy night on 12th and Madison. We sampled wines at the Trace sales center, got photos with Santa, ate at Pizza Fusion (thanks for having us Kevin!), toured my home at Trace Lofts and finished the night off with drinks at Barrio.

During which time you all shared lots of stories prefixed with “please don’t blog this, but let me tell you about…” The stories ranged from HOA nightmares at two recent new construction projects, walk-through horror stories, what to expect with new construction negotiation today to lots of happy buyers.

There were a few other choice conversations but I guess you had to be there! :) But don’t worry, we’ll have another meetup in March.

The Urban Living Meetup/12th Avenue holiday fête was a blast. I loved tripping over the kids at Izilla, the toy store — who knew it existed down below La Spiga! Matt couldn’t have looked more debonair in his holiday finery, but how could he not with that gorgeous blonde babe on his arm?

Mazel tov to the city’s most visionary developer, Liz Dunn, who has created such a stimulating commercial strip, complete not only with the above-mentioned toy store and northern Italian restaurant, but also with a real neighborhood hardware store, a funky café, and the brilliantly executed Agnes Lofts apartment building. Hope this kind of development signifies the future of Capitol Hill.

Two regrets:

1. The Ferrari dealership didn’t participate in the festivities — you think you could get them to join next year and give away Ferrari key rings?

2. Where was my favorite blogger, EconE? His absence made me the only curmudgeon in attendance.
