Sweet Looking South-West Penthouse at Veer Lofts

While there are still 22 of 99 units unsold at Veer Lofts the occasional re-sale has hit the MLS. This week unit 611, a great looking south-west corner two floor penthouse unit hit the market at $649,500 for 1,354 square feet. It sold back in October 2008 for $775k after an initial list price of $925k.

There are actually only 6 lofts left at Veer (maybe 9 when including ones in closing), but there's only one penthouse: #611 that's shown here. It is a pretty sweet place – I'm the one selling it, and it was always our goal of making it like a lounge you'd want to live in. I pulled the 22 number from King County records tonight (they show 22 units still owned by Veer Lofts LLC) so if there are pending deals they won't be counted.

That's a sweet loft, but in general, there is nothing in the other units that warrants the asking price.

You'd have to compare it to the other 6th floor lofts at Veer Lofts. It is twice as large, with much more outdoor space, and very much one-of-a-kind.

Is the Veer building wood or steel & concrete construction? The floors look like concrete but that's a wooden roof.

Hi! Prt, Veer was built as if it was a real restore loft building. The first 2 floors are steel-reinforced concrete and the 4 upper floors are built from wood. The building floors are actually super interesting because all the wood and giant beams you see on the ceilings is actually part of the floor structure (along with the concrete).

I remember looking at this back when there was a lottery to buy here.

The deal killer at Veer for me was the lack of pet facilities. The bocce ball court should have been a dog run, because I'm sure as hell not going out on the street at 3am in SLU. And Vulcan have the cheek to say that their condos are 'pet friendly'!

There are actually quite a few dogs in the building: everyone makes it work out just fine. The residents are trying to figure out what to do with that bocce ball court: my wife and I agree about the dog run though! (it's one option on the table) As for being safe at 3am, SLU is pretty darn quiet at that hour.
