Seattle weekly wrap-up: summer slow down is here!
The summer slowdown is likely (finally) here! Last week we saw just 210 new listings in Seattle, down 25% week-over-week and just a few more than the 194 we saw the week leading up to the Fourth of July long weekend. Buyers also hit the brakes putting just 181 homes under contract, down 17% week-over-week. That could be summer vacations, or it could be rates hitting a 9-month high. But while everyone is on vacation one way or another, this can be a good time for buyers looking to strike creative deals with sellers whose homes have been sitting, and for would-be-sellers, now is the time to get ready for September when buyers (hopefully) return in earnest.
What caught our eye? How about this nearly $14m brand-new home in Clyde Hill! Two midcentury flips caught our eye as well – the first in Leschi and this Shorewood one with a pool (still lots of summer left if you move fast!). And if you have a lot of boats, don’t miss this home on Bainbridge with room for 8!
P.S. There’s another “up house”! This one is in Roosevelt.
