Seattle weekly wrap-up: new listings up, pendings down ?
Last week we saw a record number of new listings in Seattle at 335. Though we should see four or five weeks of over 400 new listings later in the spring, so buyers, patience is key! Of course, this can be hard to hear with rates now at 5% and possibly going higher.
Truth be told, I have been expecting the market to cool in terms of bidding wars as buyers seem to be putting fewer homes under contract than are coming on the market but we just heard of a mid-2000s townhome in Ballard receiving 17 offers and we offered (and won) on a newer home in Wallingford that went 26% over asking with 4 offers.
What caught our eye? An updated midcentury in Seward Park, a midcentury in Magnolia, and a Ralph Anderson in Normandy Park, and if you need a getaway, here’s a funky NW contemporary waterfront on Crane Island designed by Paul Hoag.
Our April home buying class is tomorrow via Zoom. RSVP.
