Seattle weekly wrap-up: new listings still above 300 a week
New listings, while down 4.6% from the week before, were still strong; we saw just over 300 new listings last week. Definitely more than we should be seeing this time of year, but the buyers are still out there; one of the homes our clients offered on last week had 9 offers. However, interest rates are on the rise and are now at their highest level in a year. While still historically low, at some point higher rates will put a damper on buyer demand.
Our favorite home of the week is this Ira Cummings midcentury. Other good midcentury listings include an original owner near Seward Park and one with a view in Sunset Hill.
Need a getaway? Check out this great waterfront midcentury modern on Bainbridge (we helped the previous sellers buy it in 2019). Or how about 1,755 feet of waterfront on Shaw Island?
As we await this storm tomorrow, I hope your gutters and drains are clear and draining away from your foundation! We live on a floating home so might be a wild day. Hopefully, we don’t need to break out the Dramamine!
That’s it for this week, I’m off to the Kraken home-opener.
