Seattle weekly wrap-up: brrrr
I hope you and your home survived this cold spell! We had a couple of homes freeze up on our dock and another home’s water supply line burst. Seattle just isn’t designed for deep freezes!
Even though it was cold last week, we saw 156 new listings hit the market in Seattle, up 23% w-o-w, but still lagging last year (I suspect some agents held back listing due to the weather). Meanwhile, Seattle buyers put 120 homes under contract, up 66% w-o-w. A lot of chatter on the socials about bidding wars, which are certainly happening, but only 1 in 5 new listings had offer review deadlines last week.
What kept us busy last week was listing two homes – a Queen Anne Victorian with an amazing view and a Fremont duplex, both of which had steady traffic over the weekend despite the weather.
What caught our eye? Not one, not two, not three, but four Lake Washington waterfront homes under $3m hit the market on the north end of the lake even though it was below freezing (though the lake is a balmy 43F!) Oh, and don’t miss this penthouse loft in Pioneer Square.
