Seattle Times Jumps on The Slowdown Bandwagon
Wow, what a nice day today! We hit the Centennial Trail for a good little ride this afternoon. I hope you got out too!
The Seattle Times is a little late to the game talking about the construction slowdown with their Sunday article, Downtown slowdown: Seattle, Bellevue building projects take a hit:
Altogether, at least 4,000 condo or apartment units and 3 million square feet of office space in downtown Seattle and downtown Bellevue have been delayed, or worse. Contractors say the slowdown will mean less work for them and the people they employ.
However, they’ve even go so far as to map the slowdown. Here’s a PDF of the same thing.
If I were to write about the slowdown I’d look at how the slowdown is impacting our architects, designers and construction folks. I’d also look at what this is going to do to prices in the short term and long term.
