1310 East Union is a modern, five-floor lofted condo building in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. The five-story building was built in 2001 and its design has since been recognized as an architectural masterpiece by the American Instituted of Architects (AIA). 1310 East Union’s open-plan, live-work homes feature roll-up window walls, outdoor terraces, and industrial touches including scored concrete floors and exposed steel decking on the ceilings. The building’s distinctive steel-and-concrete design is especially noteworthy—its steel frame is exposed inside and out and the steel seismic cross-bracing was incorporated as a design element of the façade. Sustainability features include a stacked parking system, common gas-fired hot water and hydronic heating systems and natural ventilation. The ground-floor retail space is currently leased to Salon Moony.
