Mid-Century Modern in Bellevue
We don’t normally write about homes for sale outside of the Seattle core but we’ll make exceptions if you ask nicely and have a sweet renovated mid-century modern.
So when Keri from mk2 Properties wrote in telling us about the extensive remodel that they did on 1028 108th Ave SE we had to consider it.
Listed at $1.289m it is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath, 3,267 square foot place on a quarter of an acre lot in West Bellevue. Sounds like they did some work! (They bought for $650k in November of 2014.)
It was a complete remodel to the studs inside and out except for the awesome car decking we left and some original paneling that was too cool to change out to drywall. We added radiant hydronic heating and left the two fireplaces in-tact but added gas since most people tend to want that now. All new plumbing and electrical throughout. We opened up the staircase to below and opened up a very closed off tiny kitchen to create a chefs entertaining kitchen looking out over the territorial view. New hardwoods went in throughout the upper floor which now has two en suites plus a powder bath. Two bedrooms, bath, laundry room, office and family room are all very bright with natural light on the lower level. We built a new entry and enclosed the carport. The entry has a cool horizontal fir clad wall on the interior with a concealed door to the garage that sadly is not pictured. We poured a new driveway, etc. The list goes on!
