Live/Work To Start The Work Week
I’ve managed to come up with two live/work condos: a dramatic, affordable loft in Lake City (NE Seattle); and this roomy two story at the Bellora in Belltown with “Noticeably high ceilings” (Redfin tour notes).
Unit 201/101 at 2716 Elliott Ave has 1 bedroom, 2.25 bathrooms and is 1,540 square feet. Last time we blogged about it in Feb. 2011, the price was $619,000, it’s listed today for $600,000. The ground floor is the work level, with separate street entrance and 3/4 bathroom. You wind your way up a spiral staircase to the upper level, which is a full condo by itself; basically it comes with everything, including a separate interior entrance. It is on a noisy street that is currently the on-ramp to the Viaduct, but hopefully it will be more pleasant once the tunnel is done (reserve your comments please). The walk-in closet is only reached through the master bathroom, which I don’t see the point of. The listing also says the master bath is a full, but there is no sign of a bath in the picture or the floor plan. Still it’s a stunning condo with a full floor for work, that you can get away from once the day is done or even before.
Never heard of Lake City or don’t ever want to go there? Would it help when I tell you this condo is only $249,000 for 1,214 square feet with polished concrete floors and 16 foot ceilings? Unit 105 at 12334 31st Ave NE has 1 loft bedroom, 1.5 bathrooms, walk-in closet, 2 garage spaces, shared rooftop deck, and is the bargain of the year. Few windows open, so you’ll be glad it has A/C (heat pump). Anybody that puts the bathroom door leading off a kitchen (or dining room) should be tarred & feathered. It still a car based neighborhood, but they have made progress over the last few years. Bus stops are near the condo and with light rail pushing north, you’ll see more demand for this area. This condo is well worth a look.
