Eastside weekly wrap-up: post holiday pops are real!
As expected, new listings popped back up to levels from two weeks ago after the holiday week. Even though this market hasn’t felt like any other (inventory lows, all-time price growths), it’s nice to see some behavior that looks like prior years. 117 sellers put their homes on the market and they shouldn’t have any problem finding buyers for them.
For their efforts, there were lots of serious buyers over the holiday weekend! 67 homes under contract this week may not seem like a lot but keep in mind that only 34 homes hit the market the week prior. Buyers are grabbing up all the homes available, including the rare homes that have been sitting on the market – 18 homes were on the market for more than two weeks and 11 more than four weeks.
Sellers, buyers are still hunting seriously in December and will be ready to go if you put your home on the market even now. 20 homes spent less than five days on the market before accepting an offer this week and 10 of them received compelling enough offers to accept early. We generally advise sellers that you’ll get the best offers holding to the review date but it shows the determination of buyers to beat the competition.
Only a couple stood out this week, both in Clyde Hill: a new construction from Adam Leland Homes and a mid-century modern oasis.
