Eastside weekly wrap-up: new listings take a break for the long weekend
Similar to Seattle, new listings on the Eastside took a break for the long weekend with only 196 sellers getting their properties on the market this week. Most sellers avoid listing ahead of Memorial Day as it’s the first weekend of the summer and buyers aren’t usually around to tour properties. With gray skies and rain on the forecast, we’ll see if it is actually quiet!
Buyers, meanwhile, put 210 homes under contract this past week, a 13% increase week-over-week. While some homes will continue to be competitive, we’re seeing lots of price reductions and more and more homes going past their review date. Even with pending sales being up this week, there are still a lot of homes left on the market for buyers who aren’t deterred by interest rates.
For homes that stood out this week, a couple of mid-century houses: one with views of Lake Sammamish and one on Mercer Island. For condo lovers, a rare top-floor unit at the Astoria on Main St in Bellevue is available. And, if you’ve been waiting for a horse training facility to come up for sale, there’s a 12 acre facility available in Redmond!
