Eastside weekly wrap-up: last week for listings!

Like clockwork, we had a big week for new listings last week. Well, big for this time of year. The first week of December is usually the last push for sellers before the end of the year and we saw 98 new listings hit the Eastside, up 13% from 2022. This was pleasantly higher than the 70-80 listings I had predicted last week! All these listings were right on time too as mortgage rates hit a 3-month low and we’re starting the week around 7.11%.

Buyers were predictably quiet given the low number of listings following the holiday weekend. 49 homes were put under contract They’ll certainly have much more selection this week but the lower rates are likely to bring more buyers off the sidelines along with the new listings and the prospect that new listings likely won’t begin increasing again until January.

Just a couple of homes stood out this week, both mid-century moderns! Matt really likes this home in Bellevue overlooking Lake Sammamish and I’m a big fan of this Paul Hayden Kirk home East of Market in Kirkland.
