Eastside weekly wrap-up: biggest week for listings in the last four years!
On the Eastside, this week marked the biggest week for new listings this year and the previous three! 372 sellers got on the market, more than the biggest week in 2019 (the last “normal” year) which had 368 new listings. Coincidentally, it was also the second week of May in 2019 that marked the peak for listings that year. Will this be the peak for new listings this year?
That many new listings should be creating more opportunities for buyers, especially since buyers have gotten less active in the past few weeks. Only 191 homes were put under contract this week, down 19% from the high two weeks ago. With more inventory sitting on the market, buyers have a good shot at being the only offer or competing with just one or two other buyers instead of 10-20.
For homes we liked this week, the stand-outs were this $9.28M modern contemporary in NW Bellevue and a $20M, 5,852 square foot home in Yarrow Point on the water. Also on the water, a Mercer Island mid-century listed for $6.25M and pending in two days! And for more new and nearly-new construction, an East Mercer NW contemporary looking out over Lake Washington and a south east facing home in Juanita Point.
