Hi, new reader here. Great blog… and very timely for me. Expect frequent comments.

So… this seems a bit desperate to me. Given the location and project plans, you’d think they wouldn’t have a hard time moving these units. Too close to Aurora street noise maybe? What’s your take?

Too pricey. Way too pricey.

Not the greatest location, a lot of units do not have views. Not a real walkable neighborhood.

Their sales rep called me up last week. Talk about pushy! I told her I was unimpressed on how slow they were selling and she said that was the deal around Seattle. Yea it’s not as fast as a year ago, but Domaine is selling slower than everything.

I agree with the anon comment.

There’s no overpass to get to the other side of Aurora quickly (meaning taking a bus downtown requires walking down to Westlake, or walking around Canlis and back up the other side (10+ minutes).

Aurora is noisy. If they had done what some of the other condos along Aurora did and put stairs/elevators/bathrooms all on the back side, it might be better.

All that said, I’m not paying $500k+ for anything on Aurora. If there’s going to be street noise, it should be downtown street noise.

It’s these type of “marginal” condo developments (along with crappy conversions) that will be the first to drop prices, offer incentives, etc. Think of these places as the “Ford and GM” of the condo market :-)

Street noise will be the least of your problems. I live in a condo just down the block. Make sure you put a “Sharps Container” on your garden supplies list — and a can of pepper-spray for the muggers, prostitutes and homeless people camped out at the underpass and the new pedestrian overpass.
