Azul Flats BBQ in Fremont

Azul Flats, at 120 NW 39th Street, is inviting us all to their BBQ on Thursday:

I’d like to invite you and all your blog readers to a BBQ at the Azul Flats this Thursday (6/28) from 5-7 pm. I know you haven’t written much about Azul, but we’d really appreciate your input on all of our condos. I’ve attached the invitation below, feel free to send it out to whomever you please. Let me know if you have any questions.

I likely won’t make it since I rarely leave work before sunset :) but I thought I’d pass on the invitation to the Fremont condo hunters here.

Of course I wonder if this is the last Azul Flats BBQ. What I mean is, does their condo association allow grills on the deck? I mention this because of the recent furor over on Fast Times at 2200 blog, Light my fire!

The more relevant question is whether the fire department allows propane cylinders on the decks of high-rise buildings. Azul is not a high rise.

What I find ironic about the Blogger at 2200Life is his brandishing of the HOA rules over a few items left in a parking space, followed by his disregard for the rules over a public safety issue:

Stuff left in a parking space:

“This [crap] has been sitting in this space for about a month now, despite a warning from the property management that it’s against HOA rules, which prohibit any storage in the parking spaces.”

Propane cylinders on decks:

“I don’t think it’s relevant to call CWD or management, since they’re naturally going to be more conservative. Plus, they don’t “own” the building at all. This is a condo, not a co-op, so I believe that what I do on my deck is OK.”
