A Mid-Century Olympic Manor Model Home from 1954
It makes me smile that they’re advertising that 8625 21st Ave NW was a model home back in Olympic Manor in the ’50s. Yes, it was what seems like forever ago, but just makes me think what it must have been like in the 50s driving around north Seattle, which was likely mostly de-void of homes, checking out a model home and deciding to buy. I wonder if houses then seemed expensive or cheap? I did recently run into an older gentlemen who had lived in Seattle forever who said that at least to him, housing almost always felt expensive, even years and year ago, when in hindsight we think it must have been cheap.
Built in 1954, the 1,420 square foot, 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home was designed to capture the mountain views, which you still get to enjoy today. It sits on a 6,490 square foot lot.
We love that there is still a lot of 1950s charm left in it for you to either enjoy or update – the choice is yours.
