Reader tours the Pittsburgh in LQA
A reader recently toured The Pittsburgh a conversion at 129 Warren that was originally built in 1907 and was kind enough to write in with the following:
The unit for $150k is 255 sq ft. There are four studios in the building, and they are all on the ground floor. The largest is 404 sq ft I think, and it is selling for $185k. There will be ten outdoor parking spaces for the whole bldg and they are selling for $20k each. Available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to zoning and water runoff restrictions, the parking area will have to remain gravel, not paved.
I did not tour the larger units, but the bldg is VERY rough right now. We’re talking holes in the floor, no sinks, no toilets, walls torn apart and moved around. Completion on the units varies but the furthest completion they are expecting is end of August. Much of the existing character will remain.
If you want to see an idea of what their finished projects look like, the Queen’s Court across the street is nearing completion, and there are two staged units for you to check out. Compact fridges, compact dishwashers, single sink. 5/4″ granite counters are standard.
I sure can’t imagine living in 255 square feet but maybe it would make the right pied a terre for someone with a home elsewhere.
