Eastside weekly wrap-up: more sellers? again?
Normally we see sellers wind down their plans to put their homes on the market as we approach the holidays. However, last week we saw an uptick in new listings (same as we saw two weeks ago) with 109 new listings. That’s a 30% bump week-over-week which isn’t hard when just 84 homes were listed last week. Not many homes will get listed this week since it’s a holiday week but let’s see if we can beat the 24 listed last year!
For buyers, they put 7% fewer homes under contract last week even though rates broke again in their favor and they’re relatively unchanged at 7.38% to start this week. We’ll similarly see low buyer activity this weekend but if you want to get into that new home before the new year, the next couple of weeks are your window. Sellers are typically more open to negotiation this time of year and this year especially!
Only a couple of homes caught our eye this week. Matt loves this home in Newport Shores and I dig this newer build (2018) in Enatai with a private basketball court!
There’s still time to join us at the Urban Living Holiday Party on December 2nd! We’re going skating at the Kraken Community Iceplex and have a rink to ourselves with lots of food, drinks, and a skating Santa. So if you’re thinking of working with us next year to buy or sell, we’d be happy to have you join us, just hit reply and I’ll send you an invite!
Happy Thanksgiving!
