Seattle weekly wrap-up: number of new listings nearly set a record for the year

Sellers are certainly back from summer vacation putting 339 new listings on the market last week making it the second busiest of the year for new listings. This week could be even busier for new listings making it the busiest of the year. With such a big bump in new listings, last week ended with more homes for sale than any other week this year so expect the same to happen again this week. Spring buyers, if you missed out on a home, now is your chance!

What about fall buyer activity? Too soon to tell, but what I’m watching is how many homes go pending this week. Last week was understandably slow because the new listings were too new.

We definitely had a busy week last week bringing on a home a block from Green Lake for $1.4m, a nearly new $1.2m modern home in Rainier Valley, a cool vintage loft in Lower Queen Anne, and a view condo with a pool in Queen Anne. Plus we’ve got three more new listings set to hit over the next few days! If you’re thinking of selling, now is the time, just hit reply if you’d like to chat.

What caught our eye? This $8m north Mercer Island 1968 home sure did! Or you could build your own Mercer Island waterfront if you have $7m for a vacant lot and $500 to $1000 a square foot for the build. At the other end of the price spectrum, here’s a $1.3m midcentury by Seward Park. Need a getaway? Here’s a riverfront $3.5m log cabin, err estate, by Mount Baker (winter is coming!) or a $1.25m midcentury waterfront on Whidbey (for next summer!) Remarkably this eye-catching Beach Drive home went pending in less than 12 hours today.
