Seattle weekly wrap-up: what will the fall season bring?
Is fall here already!? Thankfully the weather is still nice! But wait, fall isn’t until September 22nd. Well, in the world of Seattle real estate with Labor Day now behind us, summer vacations wrapped up, and the kids back in school it is the start of the fall real estate season. So we’re super curious about how is it going to go; will it be a standoff between buyers and sellers like last fall? Or have buyers come to terms with high mortgage rates? Will some sellers let go of their low-rate mortgages to sell? We’ll certainly know more in a week or two!
As for last week, it was slow! In fact, it was the slowest week of the year for new listings. Just 138 new listings in Seattle and buyers put just 154 homes under contract. But I do have two stories of bidding wars – this Hawthorne Hills home had 10 offers on it last week and this View Ridge home had 5.
What’s catching our eye this week? Don’t miss the Craftsman we just listed a block from Green Lake or this like-new modern contemporary home in Rainier Valley. Also, check out this modern in Denny Blaine!
Thinking of buying this fall? We’re doing a home buying class next Tuesday.
