Seattle weekly wrap-up: rates now near 7.5%

Damn, mortgage rates are 7.48% today! Hopefully, they cool off by labor day when buyers typically return from vacation.

With rates stuck above 7% what’s happening with real estate in Seattle? Last week sellers brought on 242 new listings, up 8.5% w-o-w. Meanwhile, buyers put 186 homes under contract, making it busier than in the preceding three weeks.

What caught my eye? DO NOT miss “Elford West Edge”, a $12m listing in Broadview! 8,300 square feet of PNW contemporary amazing-ness. Plus it has a crazy train room in photo 37!? I also like this new construction modern home on the south end of Bainbridge for $2.7m. It even has a shipping container DADU (detached dwelling unit)!
