Weekly wrap-up: a $4.5m floating home, a big i-beam, and a podcast
New listings slowed dramatically last week and will slow even more this week due to the holiday week.
Of the 210 new listings last week our fave was a $4.5m end of dock floating home (that we got to peek inside on Saturday) that went pending in 3 days! (If you missed it, their neighbor is selling for only $3.5m.) Followed by a James Paul Jones mid-century in Magnolia. Our fave so far this week is designed by Stuart Silk, their Lake Cove Residence, priced at $16.75m.
Need a getaway? Did you see that $6m prepper paradise also featured in the Seattle Times? Though I’d opt for this Poulsbo waterfront. Or get away with this modern dwelling on wheels.
Quick update on our remodel – we beat the weather and got our 34′ i-beam craned in over our neighbor’s houses and safely lowered into ours. It was quite the sight! If you’re curious about building and remodeling, I highly recommend Ready for Rain, Lee LeFever’s writings on their move to the San Juans and building a place there. So much good stuff in there.
Last but not least, thanks to our readers and thanks to our clients for a good year. It was looking bleak in March for a couple weeks but real estate, surprisingly, came roaring back. We have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving even though we’ll be celebrating with just the kids at home due to Covid.
p.s. we were guests on the “Behind the Yard Sign” podcast by our favorite stager, Spade + Archer, if you’re curious to learn more about how we turned a blog into a brokerage.
