There are so many listings that boast a “spectacular view” or “breathtaking vistas” that, when you actually tour the place, turn out to be peek-a-boo views or only visible from the deck. One of the owners, Carl Goodman, actually wrote for Urban Living.com years ago. He is planning a move to the East Coast and selling the condo on the southwest corner of the 11th floor. The building is located at 525 Belmont Ave E., on the corner of Mercer St.

Here are the basics: two bedrooms, two bathrooms in more than 1,300 sq. ft., two parking spaces in the garage, a lanai, and more importantly, a wall of windows in the living and dining rooms that frame an unobstructed, panoramic view of downtown Seattle, the Space Needle, the Olympic Mountains, Puget Sound, and Lake Union. The asking price: $665,000.

Some of the interior, such as the kitchen and the bathrooms, are (Sorry, Carl) dated. So, if you prefer a more contemporary look, you will have to do some renovating. That said, what you can’t put a price on is the view and the fact that the condo is an end unit on the top floor. These types of units in The Highlander building and its siblings – The Lamplighter to the south and Shannon to the north – rarely come onto the market. I should know. I live in the building.
