The Dowell Residence – A Seward Park Mid-Century Modern
The Dowell Residence, designed by noted architect Paul Hayden Kirk in 1953, at 5756 Wilson Ave S, just hit the market for $1.5m. Down in Seward Park, it is quite the example of mid-century modern architecture.
The residence is a good size at 4,320 square feet, boasting two suites on a 0.38 acre lot.
Featured in Architectural Record, Sunset and the Seattle Met, it is a must see for mid-century modern lovers. The residence last sold in 1997 for $385k. Note that if you want to pull the trigger, offers are being reviewed July 23rd.
Edward Krigsman of Windermere did a nice job listing the place by also publishing a site at thedowellresidence.com/ with lots of photos, historical info and background on the home. Photos below courtesy of Edward Krigsman and EK Group.
